As we mark the start of spring with a snow storm equity markets have moved off their December lows and have established a solid uptrend. After falling 19% from September to December of last year, the S&P 500 is closing in on its 2018 high of 2,930 which it reached on September 20th, 2018 while the Chicago Board Options Exchange Volatility Index (VIX)–a measure of stock volatility and bullish/bearish sentiment in stocks–has fallen from its December high indicating stocks could move higher as we enter the second quarter.
